Urodacus elongatus

Urodacus elongatus

A rocky outcrop dweller, this species occupies a scrape under a rock with a short burrow running from the scrape. Most activity occurs during summer months when males leave the burrow and seek females using pheromones for detection. You can read about the mating habits of this scorpion in the features section.
These scorpions will wander within short distances of their home looking for food, but generally they wait at the entrance under the rock for unsuspecting prey items to wander in. Adult females of this species are extemely aggressive towards anything getting in their path, not hesitating to kill and consume their own species.
